Hi, I’m Nic Samson

My intention in all that I offer is to support women through life’s sacred passages so they may feel safe, held, nurtured and seen throughout their journey and emerge feeling well, connected and empowered.

As a full-spectrum doula and women’s work facilitator, I am devoted to empowering and supporting women through all stages of womanhood.

As a doula, I focus on birth and postpartum care. It brings me deep joy to support women through this incredibly powerful and sacred time in their lives. I walk beside women and their families in connection, guidance, hands-on help, nourishment and devotional service in prenatal care, in the birth space and in the months postpartum.

My services include bodywork and hands-on support, embodiment rituals, hearty, home-cooked, organic meals, and assistance around the home. I am a certified Tul’ix Therapy (also known as Arvigo Therapy) practitioner with a special focus on pregnancy massage and bodywork. This lineage comes from Don Elijio Panti and has roots in Maya tradition.

A big part of my work and passion is working with herbal allies and making herbal remedies to support women’s bodies from pregnancy to postpartum. My services also include simple and profound acts of listening with an open heart, a warm embrace, someone to share your tears or laughter with, a soft feminine presence or a good cuppa tea.

In all that I do, I aim for women to begin their journey into motherhood feeling deeply held, valued and vital as they traverse this great rebirth of themselves. In this, I support families and babies with mother-centred care, ensuring they all start this initiation with regulated nervous systems to establish a strong foundation for life.

I also honour a spectrum of women’s Rites of Passage by holding ceremonies for sacred transitions, including a young maiden's first bleed, the birthing of a mother, menopause, elderhood, and the loving union of a bridal blessing, among other personal Rites of Passage.

I am especially passionate about educating women about menstruation, the importance of this sacred time, and its rhythm and guidance in cultivating a positive relationship between a woman and her womb.

I weave ritual and ceremony through all of my offerings, as this has been a powerful practice in my own healing journey. My work is strongly rooted in traditional practices of natural healing, the earth's teachings and listening to women as they listen to the wisdom of their own body.

ancestral healing

My work is strongly rooted in traditional practices of natural healing, the earth's teachings and listening to women as they listen to the wisdom of their own body. This work ripples along the lineage thread as children witness how a mother should be tended to and parents / grandparents witness and receive healing too, the care they may never have had.

holistic approach

Approaching healing through a holistic lens. Bodywork, community care, rituals and ceremony, hearty, home-cooked, organic meals, herbal remedies and assistance around the home so that mama can rest and be nourished on all levels.

herbal medicine

I love growing my own flowers and herbs, bringing bunches to mothers homes and  turning them into herbal remedies. Food is medicine. Part of my work is making sure the mamas are ingesting the right foods, drinks and herbs to support the body through the different stages of pregnancy and postpartum.

my inspiration

My path to this work began unexpectedly. For many years I had been pursuing acting, until a powerful encounter with a women’s circle in my early 20’s changed my trajectory. It sparked an era of self discovery, healing and transformation in my life through women’s circles, retreats, ceremonies, travel and festivals. I later began holding my own women’s circles, workshops and rite of passage rituals, all of which cemented my passions for working with women.

My path took a profound turn when my father became gravely ill with cancer. I set aside everything to care for him during his illness. This deep devotion to my father, from supporting his healing to accompanying him through his end-of-life journey, ignited a powerful calling to serve during these sacred moments in one’s life, both in the first breath and the last. This experience awakened my purpose to be in service to these transitions and those who journey through them. After my beloved father passed, I completed my birth and postpartum training. Since then, I have been supporting families through pregnancy, birth, and traditional postpartum care while also nourishing those navigating grief and saying goodbye to loved ones.

I live on Gumbaynggirr Country in the beautiful surrounds of Bellingen in the Mid-North Coast of NSW. However, I was born in Verona, Italy and moved to Australia at a young age. Growing up with my Italian mother and making regular trips back to my homeland has deeply influenced who I am. This ancestral heritage (as well as being part Irish, Scottish and English) is woven through my offerings, cooking, values and way of life.

In my spare time, I enjoy gardening—growing and tending to veggies and flowers—weaving fabrics and textiles on my loom, cooking for loved ones, dancing to groovy beats and immersing myself in books.

I am forever walking the humbling path of a student and am constantly learning and growing alongside the beautiful women to whom I am privileged to be in service to.

I offer my deepest respect to this Gumbaynggirr Country and its people, acknowledging the traditional custodians of this land—past, present, and emerging. I am profoundly grateful to live, work, birth, grow, and be in connection with this land and all its inhabitants. I give great gratitude to all the teachers and wisdom keepers who have shaped who I am and continue to inspire my service to others.

With love,
Nic x
